
DEAI Internship Grants
The WFM DEAI internship program is aimed at offering a more inclusive and diverse workforce within the professional museum field. This program is designed to support students and recent grads from underrepresented populations in their pursuit of valuable experiences and skills at WFM affiliate institutions.
The DEAI Internship program awards up to two $5,000 grants annually to affiliate institutions in support of providing valuable experience to those looking to enter the museum field.
Eligibility
DEAI Internship Grants are awarded to WFM institutional affiliates who meet the following criteria:
Own or use and care for tangible objects and specimens
Make their materials available to the public through exhibits, education, research, and/or programming
Hold 501(c)(3) status, operate under the jurisdiction of the state, county, municipality, or tribal government/organization, and/or are an institution of higher learning
Guidelines
Internship duration is expected to be 240 hours/ 12 weeks
There are two application cycles per year - one for a summer internship and one for a fall internship
Institutions are limited to ONE DEAI Internship Grant per year
Appropriate recognition of the grant funds should be included on any promotional materials, publications, or publicly
Application Procedure
Complete the DEAI Internship Grant Application Form (via Google Forms) by the appropriate deadline.
